Smoking is permitted on Aquanimity in designated outdoor areas only. It is never permitted below deck, in the cabins, in the saloon, or in any enclosed space on the boat.

Where smoking is allowed

The open cockpit and stern areas of the boat are the appropriate places to smoke if you need to. Fresh air, open sky, away from the living quarters and dining areas. Most guests who smoke find this completely workable — you are outside most of the time anyway.

Why below deck is off limits

A boat is a small, enclosed environment. Smoke below deck infiltrates the cabins, the upholstery, the bedding, and the ventilation system in ways that are very difficult to remediate. Out of respect for non-smoking guests and the next group of guests, smoking below deck is a firm rule.

Cigars and e-cigarettes

The same rule applies. Cigars and e-cigarettes are welcome on deck and in open outdoor areas. Not below deck or in enclosed spaces.

Please be considerate

If you plan to smoke during your charter, simply mention it before arrival. There are no surprises and no judgment. The crew will point out the appropriate areas when you board and make sure everyone in your group is comfortable with the arrangement.
